Toxic WaterThe North central province in Sri Lanka is vital in the production of rice in the country. Most people living in this area are innocent farmers who depend on farming to sustain their daily lives. These days, the water in the area contains a murky taste. This is mainly due to the high content of chemicals present in the water base. Tests have proven that the main cause of such chemicals in the water base originate from pesticides and fertilizer used for farming. Toxins such as Arsenic, Cadmium and Mercury are mixed with drinking water leading to deadly illnesses.

Let's save LivesThe residents living in this area not only use this water for drinking but also use the same contaminated water for cooking purposes as well. Due to this, a large portion of innocent people in the north central province have been susceptible to fatal kidney illnesses. Research done in the area of Padavi Parakramapura has found that 20% of the people residing in the area suffer from kidney illnesses.
There are many ways we can save people from this deadly epidemic. The main course of action to protect the people of this area is to provide them with clean drinking water. |
What We Do |
WeCareForYou Charity uses Shraddha Charity Organization as an intermediary (SCO) to install Water Purification Plants in Sri Lanka and implement solutions. In this project, Water Purification Plants with Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology are established in disease prevalent areas which have the ability to remove harmful heavy elements in water.
SCO has completed 135 water purification projects, giving 110 million liters of pure water for 160,000 people around Sri Lanka. Please join us to give pure water to many people.
