The Enlightened One said, " if people knew as I know the results of giving and sharing, they would not eat without having given nor would the stain of stinginess overcome their minds. Even if it were their last bite, their last mouthful, they would not eat without having shared, if there was someone to share it with."
(Sakyamuni Gauthama Buddha-Itv 26)
We organize these drives and invite the community to donate food and clothes to the WeCareForYou Charity. The charity will then  distribute food and clothes among needy people through Canadian Non-profit organizations such as: North York Harvest Food Bank, Imagine Canada, Fred Victor etc.

Since the beginning, WeCareForYou Team has worked to alleviate hunger and provide comport to those in need. There is no better satisfaction than seeing the precious smile of someone who will not miss a meal and who is well protected by comfortable and warm clothes.
"A person who is responsive to requests and compassionate towards all beings distributes gifts delightedly, saying, “Give them! Give!” That person is like a great storm cloud—resounding, thundering—raining, filling with water and drenching all over the earth. He earns his wealth honestly through his own effort. He satisfies those in need with food and drink."
(Sakyamuni Gauthama Buddha-Itv 75)

“The Buddha-To-Be was dedicated to the practice of loving kindness. He donated cloths that were beautiful and soft to touch, He gave gifts like a heavy rain was pouring on this whole earth."

Past Projects

Warm Clothing Drive (Jan 2023)
At the beginning of the holiday season, members of We Care For You Charity and Mahamevnawa Buddhist Monastery Toronto organized a Warm Clothing Drive to help people in need stay warm and safe by collecting winter clothes.

We successfully collected more than 200 brand-new items like hats, mittens, pants, boots, scarves, socks, jackets and sweaters. Many volunteers and members of our community worked hard to pack all the items so they could be handed out as gifts.

Thanks to efficient team work to collect, wrap and deliver these items, we had the opportunity to contribute to Fred Victor's goal of making a positive change in the lives of people experiencing homelessness and low-income housing across Toronto.

We are grateful to the people who donated clothes, to the volunteers that offered their time and effort and to Fred Victor's management team for making this possible.

We also share the merit that we collected in this meritorious project with our teacher, most Ven. Pinwath Loku Swaminwahanse and all the monks in Toronto Mahamevnawa Buddhist Monastery. We share the merit with everybody. May all beings enjoy good health, long life, happiness and peace!

Many volunteers and members of the group worked hard to pack them up so that they can be handed as gifts.
