Community Clean-Up
"A goodhearted friend called ‘a helper’ is some body who guards you when you’re negligent. He guards your property when you’re negligent. He keeps you safe in times of danger. When something needs doing, he supplies you with twice the money you need." (Sakyamuni Gauthama Buddha-DN 31)
Our past projects
Community Clean-Up Day - Markham - 2022
Members of We Care For You Charity and Mahamevnawa Buddhist Monastery Toronto organized a community clean-up day to keep the area around the Monastery clean and beautiful and contribute to preserving our environment free of waste.
The volunteers successfully removed all the litter along Kennedy Rd between Elgin Mills and 19th Ave, between Warden Rd and McCowan Rd, and 19th Ave between Warden Rd and McCowan Rd. We are grateful to York Region and the City of Markham for supporting our event by donating equipment and we share many merits with all the volunteers that donate their time and effort to contribute to keep our community clean and safe. We also share the merit that we collected in this meritorious project with our teacher most Ven. Pinwath Loku Swaminwahansa, Bhantes in Toronto Mahamevnawa Buddhist Monastery and all the Bhantes in Mahamevnawa Buddhist monasteries. |

Community Clean-up day - Markham (2012)
Another year, and another great deed done by the volunteers of We Care For You! For the second time, we all took the time to clean around Kennedy Road and the surrounding area of our monastery location. Many of us cleaned garbage and litter around the ditch, or left on the grass and small ponds. We showed the care for our environment helping to clean bags of garbage
